Lift Up Your Eyes
Bubble World

The “magical” feeling about Christmas intrigues me. I mean, every holiday feels different. However, Christmas stands out the most. Maybe, it’s the most marketable season from a businessman’s point of view but I like to think it’s more than that. I’ve been reblogging Christmas-ish pictures, quite contrary to my stand against excessive reblogging. It’s just, Christmas doesn’t really get old, does it?

The atmosphere and the build up is heightens when it comes to Christmas. Although my reaction to Christmas this year isn’t as upbeat, it feels just the same. It feels like you want to be in an alternate reality where everything just fits in perfectly; like your own bubble world.

I’ve watched Black Swan, Inception & The Truman Show recently and the one common thing between these 3 blockbusters was the fight between reality and the alternate world. It is a constant battle between what we know and what we perceive because what we know defines whatever that is factual but what we perceive defines one’s world.

I always perceive Christmas to be the day that something magical happens but in reality, Christmas doesn’t really change the world we live in that much. It’s just perception. And for that reason, it’s better to be in our own bubble world sometimes.
